WHY BECOME AN AIRCRAFT ENGINEER?

 

 

Lead Aircraft Projects Engineer from Cathay Pacific Airways, Daniel Nathali, and his team will come into the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in September to deliver an inspirational presentation, with the ultimate aim of attracting young engineering students into the field of aviation.

Having been in the aviation field for over two decades, Daniel Nathali has travelled the world and has worked with the most remarkable airlines and other aviation related parties.  He has served for one of the world's elite forces, the Royal Air Force, in the UK, as well as in major airlines such as BWIA West Indies Airways.

 

Through his career, he has worked on military fighter aircraft, as well as iconic commerical aircraft such as the Lockheed Martin L1011 Tristar and the Boeing 747 classics. Rising from a hands on ground staff, Daniel Nathali is currently a Senior Aircraft Projects Engineer at Cathay Pacific Airways.  His works include developing the Bulbous wing fairing for the Boeing 747-400 and a Rotary Variable Differential Transformer (RVDT) preventative maintenance programs.

 

Daniel Nathali will share his experiences and give one an insight into what the aviation industry is like.  He will also give a basic overview to the required technical knowledge for a typical aircraft engineer.
