HONG KONG CIVIL AVIATION DEPARTMENT VISIT

Ever wondered what the regulatory body for aviation in Hong Kong does? The Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department (HKCAD) is a government organisation which is in charge of everything that happens in Hong Kong's flight information region (FIR).  From helicopter flights to general aviation, HKCAD sets the minimum standards.  Take this opportunity and come with us to the HKCAD headquarters in this joint event between the AIAA student branch (HKUST), HKUST's Mechanical Engineering Student Association (MESA) and HKUST SENG's Rengine peer mentor group (E2i) for an insightful visit.

HKUST Aero Day

Date: Wednesday 24 February, 2015

Location: HKUST LT-J Concourse

On February 24, the AIAA student branch at HKUST will be launching an Aero Day.  This will be in the form of an aviation fair, where companies and influential individuals within the aviation industry from Hong Kong will be invited to hold seminars and place boothes.  The aim of this activity is to raise awareness of the aviation industry within the HKUST student community.

ABC of Commercial Aviation: Technology Insertion Rewards and Challenges

As part of the Aero Day, the AIAA student chapter has invited Dr Susan Ying of COMAC to come deliver a presentaiton on the developments of aviation.  Currently based in Shanghai, Dr Ying has worked in multiple renowned companies and organisations such as Boeing and NASA.
