An Alternate Engineering Pathway: Engine Overhaul

Established in 1997, the Hong Kong Aero Engines Services Limited (HAESL) is an aircraft engine repair and overhaul company located in the industrial estate in Tseung Kwan O.  HAESL is a joint venture between Rolls Royce, the Hong Kong Aircraft Engineering Company Limited (HAECO) and the SIA Engineering Company (SIAEC), with the primary function of overhauling turbofan engines.  The facility has the capability of overhauling and testing Rolls Royce engines from the RB211 to newer Trent engines (Trent 500, Trent 700 and Trent 800).

 

On the 12th of November, 2014, an alumnus of HKUST, Gary Chow, will come into HKUST to deliver a career talk. He will explain the different tracks graduates can take when entering HAESL as well as his personal experiences going through his particular stream.
