HONG KONG CIVIL AVIATION DEPARTMENT

Established in 1946, the Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department (HKCAD) is the regulatory body for the aviation sector in Hong Kong.  HKCAD has multiple responsibilities from controlling the air traffic flow in Hong Kong’s flight information region (FIR), to setting regulatory standards and limits for airlines and enthusiasts alike, to investigating incidents and accidents.  The current headquarters of the HKCAD, which was completed in construction in 2012, houses an education path, a brand new air traffic control center and updated facilities amongst others.  Join us by signing up with either HKUST’s Mechanical Engineering Student Association (MESA), HKUST SENG’s (E2i) Rengine peer mentor group (must be year 1 engineering student at HKUST) or the AIAA student branch at HKUST, to get an insightful visit of this educational engineering marvel.
